Job Description

Senior Legal Manager at Aggreko

Bring your energy to Aggreko as a Senior Legal Manager. You’ll provide strategic, pragmatic, and business‑aligned legal leadership across the region, co‑owning coverage to enable safe, timely, and commercially sound delivery of complex power and energy projects.

Aggreko keeps customers' worlds on, providing power without pause, and heating, cooling, and oil-free air without end. This ranges from supporting world-class events for a few weeks to critical mining operations and remote communities who rely on us for decades.

What You’ll Do As a Senior Legal Manager

  • Lead end‑to‑end commercial contracting: draft, negotiate and close MSAs, EPC/EPCM, O&M, PPAs, frameworks, fuel/logistics, and subcontracting.
  • Structure hybrid & microgrid projects (solar + BESS + thermal): set commercial and performance terms and coordinate with engineering and delivery.
  • Provide legal leadership on public procurement, tenders, and regulatory matters.
  • Manage third‑party due diligence and compliance (ABC, AML, sanctions, export controls, competition): run risk assessments and remedial actions.
  • Own dispute strategy and resolution: early case assessment, lead mediation/settlement, and manage arbitration/litigation and external counsel within budget.
  • Oversee governance and corporate secretarial matters for regional entities; implement playbooks, track cycle times, and enforce risk appetite.

You Are

  • A qualified lawyer with 8+ years post-qualified experience in complex commercial and project contracting.
  • Experienced working within the energy, mining, or equipment‑rental sectors.
  • Possess a strong track record with EPC/EPCM, O&M, PPA/ESA contracts, performance regimes, and security instruments.
  • Have practical experience managing cross‑border disputes: early case assessment, lead counsel selection, and oversight of arbitration/litigation.
  • Deep compliance expertise in anti‑bribery, AML, sanctions, export controls, and competition law.
  • Fluent in English language skills. An advanced level of French language would also be preferred.
  • Able to work autonomously, prioritize effectively, and travel across Africa for site and operational engagement.

Here’s What You’ll Get

  • A commercially focused, international role with strong exposure to high‑value energy projects and cross‑jurisdictional legal work.
  • Competitive base salary and annual bonus.
  • Flexible working location within Africa and regular collaboration with global legal and commercial teams.
  • Learning and development support.
  • Comprehensive benefits subject to local policy.
