Role Overview - Director of Product Quality Labs

This role is responsible for developing and managing quality laboratories within AFC North America, encompassing personnel, equipment, budgets, and workspaces. The position ensures standardized testing of incoming and in-house manufactured products across several locations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop & Manage Quality labs across North America
  • Collaborate with Quality Managers to ensure timely inspections
  • Perform Quality Manager reviews and ensure standard task execution
  • Standardize equipment calibration, maintenance, and ERP data entry
  • Maintain quality inspection workflow within ERP systems
  • Support internal audits, investigations, ERP corrections, and QMS initiatives
  • Propose and manage Quality lab budgets and spending (P&L)

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or technology
  • Experience building and managing mechanical/industrial testing labs
  • Knowledge of ISO9001, AS9100, ISO17025 and/or IATF16949
  • Proven experience managing Quality Managers and QMS
  • Intermediate knowledge of metallurgy and coatings/plating preferred
  • Willingness to travel approximately 33%
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Ability to multitask across various projects concurrently
