Job Details

Position Summary

The Project Manager within AEI’s Due Diligence division will perform various environmental due diligence projects focused on commercial real estate. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESA) projects, including Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae ESA projects for Agency lenders and investor platforms, and must demonstrate superior customer service, writing, time management, and organizational skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct environmental reviews
  • Perform state and federal regulatory program file reviews
  • Carry out field investigations
  • Understand commercial real estate lending and finance basics
  • Execute environmental due diligence projects

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in environmental due diligence projects, particularly Phase I ESAs.
  • Experience with Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae ESA projects is preferred.
  • Excellent writing, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Strong communication skills with people at all levels.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary.
  • Self-starter and resourceful with the ability to manage multiple projects under strict deadlines.

Education & Certifications

Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, geology, or a related field.

  • Active AHERA certification (preferred)
  • Current OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training certification, asbestos inspector, and/or lead-based paint certification (preferred)

Physical Requirements

The role involves both indoor and outdoor work with moderate noise levels in an office setting and variable weather conditions outdoors. Candidates must be able to lift/move up to 25 pounds and perform activities such as sitting, typing, standing, walking, and balancing.
