Overview
The Supervisor, Actuarial & Underwriting Risk Management at Aegon is responsible for developing quantitative and analytical models or reasoning in support of the company’s financial and risk management efforts.
Responsibilities
- Represent Financial Risk Management in cross-functional meetings and committees
- Identify problems and propose solution alternatives for mitigation
- Support staff in financial risk activities and risk analysis tools
- Facilitate education for business leaders
- Challenge pricing, valuation initiatives and quantitative models
- Work with the first line to identify risks and escalate as needed
- Research issues and provide detailed data-driven reporting
Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree in finance, actuarial, economics, mathematics, or a related field is required. Eight years of experience in financial or risk management, or six years with an advanced degree, strong analytical and data skills, and the ability to work with various management levels are essential.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree in an analytical field, relevant professional certifications, and FSA Actuarial Designation.
Working Conditions
This hybrid role requires three days in-office per week at one of our hub locations (Cedar Rapids, Baltimore, or Philly). Salary generally ranges between $115,000 and $137,000 annually and may include an annual bonus.
