About the Role

The Senior Director Software Engineering Technology Operations at Aegon leads the development of new web and cloud technologies to support an agile digital business for World Financial Group Operations. In this role, you will define enterprise web and cloud strategies, grow capabilities, and develop teams by providing technology vision, leadership, and mentoring in design, framework, and platform decisions.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include:

• Provide technical guidance to development teams for quality solutions.
• Drive end-to-end design solutions and strategic direction.
• Partner with executive leadership and stakeholders throughout the organization.
• Translate strategic goals into actionable plans and milestones.
• Champion enterprise architecture, design principles, and technology trends.
• Facilitate white board discussions and presentations with key stakeholders.
• Oversee quality, performance, cost, and scope for cloud and web initiatives.
• Mentor staff and nurture current and future leaders.

Qualifications

Candidates should have:

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 12 years experience in database design, distributed applications, and microservices.
• At least 10 years leading large-scale design projects and cross-functional teams.
• Expertise in DevOps, continuous integration, and delivery methodologies.
• Strong communication and technical presentation skills at all organizational levels.
• Experience managing vendor relationships and negotiating contracts.
• Knowledge of modern UI frameworks and web technologies.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a relevant field.
• Experience with advanced analytics, machine learning, big data, and real-time data processing.
• Certifications in AWS, Microsoft or similar platforms.
• Experience with telephony and workflow solutions.
• Knowledge of the financial services industry.

Working Conditions

This is a hybrid role located in multiple cities including Philadelphia, Denver, Baltimore, and Cedar Rapids. Occasional work outside of normal business hours and frequent travel may be required.

Compensation

The salary for this role ranges between $200,000 and $250,000 annually, with eligibility for an annual bonus based on performance. Actual pay will be determined by qualifications, experience, geography, and other operational needs.
