Overview
The Product Owner at Aegon develops and communicates the product vision for agile teams. Serving as a key stakeholder and proxy for both internal and external customers, the Product Owner ensures alignment with business agility through constant engagement with other POs and stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Research market and customer insights to shape product vision.
- Write clear epics, themes, and user stories with defined acceptance criteria.
- Balance near-term and long-term product goals through informed trade-offs.
- Establish and prioritize the product roadmap and backlog.
- Collaborate with UI/UX, scrum teams, and other product owners in agile ceremonies.
- Lead backlog refinement workshops and manage delivery expectations.
- Coordinate product release planning with technical and business stakeholders.
- Participate in system demos and formally accept completed stories/features.
Qualifications
Required: Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, or equivalent experience, strong agile methodology skills, technical product understanding, excellent communication, and familiarity with JIRA or similar tools.
Preferred Qualifications
Two years of experience, Appian knowledge, Product Owner certification, and a track record in agile environments including practices like XP, Kanban, SAFe, and more.
Working Conditions & Compensation
Office environment. Salary is estimated between $105,000 and $130,000 annually with eligibility for an annual bonus based on performance and company bonus plan.
