Overview
The Head of Internal Communications is a key leader within the Corporate Affairs function at Aegon. This role leads the development and execution of a comprehensive internal communication strategy, aligning with the company’s mission, values, and business priorities. Serving as a strategic advisor to the Executive Committee including the CEO, this individual ensures transparent, consistent, and timely messaging enterprise-wide.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a forward-thinking internal communications strategy.
- Advise the Executive Committee including the CEO on leadership messaging.
- Create and manage leadership communications and employee engagement platforms.
- Oversee content production and evolution of the corporate intranet.
- Collaborate with Public Relations and other corporate functions for messaging alignment.
- Craft executive communications for townhalls, earnings releases and more.
- Develop quarterly earnings communications with Finance and Business Development teams.
- Establish metrics to evaluate communication effectiveness.
- Partner with Group communications to support strategic objectives and real-time messaging.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; Master’s preferred.
- 12+ years of professional experience, with 5+ years working with C-suite/VP-level management.
- Experience in merger and acquisition communications and financial services is a plus.
- Expert verbal, written, research, and presentation skills.
- Proven ability to develop and implement complex communications strategies.
Working Conditions & Compensation
This position is based in an office or hybrid environment with up to 35% travel. The salary ranges from $200,000 to $265,000 annually, with eligibility for an annual bonus based on performance and company bonus plans.
