About the Role
Join our Financial Reporting team at the Aegon Budapest office and continue your finance career in an exciting and changing international environment. As a Financial Reporting Manager, you will be responsible for producing specific deliverables in financial and non-financial reporting, gathering, consolidating, reviewing, and reporting financial and non-financial information for the Aegon International region. This includes preparing reports, performing technical analysis on numbers reported by business units (Spain & Portugal, Brazil, China, and Asia Pacific), and summarizing analysis results in narrative reports. You will also participate in the annual budget preparation process and provide financial expert input to various finance projects.
Your Team
The Financial Reporting department is part of Aegon International, reporting to the CFO of Aegon International. Our purpose is to provide Aegon Management and Aegon’s Corporate Financial Centre with reliable, transparent, and compliant financial and non-financial information (IFRS, Capital, MCVNB) to support decision-making and legal reporting. We work closely with other functions within Aegon International, such as Actuaries, and with Aegon’s Corporate Financial Centre, as well as with the business units of the International region to ensure timely and high-quality information.
Qualifications And Skills
- Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or equivalent.
- Minimum 10 years of work experience in an international financial consolidation and reporting environment or BIG4 financial services.
- Experience gained in the insurance industry in a financial area.
- IFRS knowledge; US GAAP is a plus.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Financial Reporting Solutions (e.g., Tagetik, SAP, Oracle, etc.).
- Strong analytical, people, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills (written and spoken English).

Key Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Responsible for timely, accurate, complete, and compliant Aegon financial reporting (e.g., IFRS and Capital numbers), analyzing results, and summarizing findings in narrative reports.
- Data Quality: Provide and assure high quality and data integrity of all information and reports.
- Process Improvement: Continuously improve the effectiveness and efficiency of financial reporting processes.
- Project Support: Participate in various finance projects, providing professional expertise and support.
