Job Overview
The Transportation Drainage Engineer role is based in Phoenix, Murray, and Denver, United States. You will lead the planning, design, and implementation of drainage systems for transportation infrastructure projects, including a flagship Progressive Design Build project at the I84 & US 89 interchange.
Main Responsibilities
- Design and analyze drainage systems for highways, roads, and transportation projects.
- Develop innovative, cost-effective drainage solutions.
- Conduct hydraulic and hydrologic analyses with advanced modeling software.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal stormwater management regulations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including environmental and geotechnical specialists.
- Prepare and review technical reports, design calculations, and construction documents.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
- Represent AECOM in client meetings and public presentations.
- Keep current with industry trends and emerging technologies in transportation drainage.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: BA/BS with 4+ years of relevant experience or equivalent. Preferred: Professional Engineer license, 6+ years in Civil Engineering, proficiency in design software such as MicroStation, OpenRoads, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and experience in transportation project design especially in CO, AZ, or UT.
