Job Overview
The Rail Design Engineer II will work within AECOM's Rail Engineering Department in the United States on both freight and transit rail projects. As an integral member of a team of 3-5 engineers, you will build analytical and design skills using the latest Bentley OpenRail Designer software.
Responsibilities
- Participate in planning, design, and construction of rail projects
- Prepare plans, specifications, and cost estimates under supervision
- Conduct data collection and perform quality control reviews
- Utilize software tools such as MicroStation, OpenRail, and BIM solutions
- Engage in proposal development and guide junior engineers and technicians
- Travel periodically for client visits and field assessments
Qualifications
Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with 2+ years rail or civil engineering experience (or equivalent). Preferred: Proficiency in MicroStation, InRoads, OpenRail, Engineer in Training (EIT) certification, and valid Driver’s License. A Master’s degree is a plus.
