Role Overview
The Field Engineer / Field Inspector role supports Amtrak's ADA Stations Program through a joint venture between AECOM and Jacobs. This role involves on-site construction monitoring, quality oversight, reporting, and coordination with project stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide on-site construction monitoring from mobilization to contract closeout.
- Prepare detailed daily inspection reports documenting safety, work progress, and QA/QC activities.
- Verify contractor compliance with contract drawings and specifications.
- Assist the Contracting Official’s Technical Representative with managing contractor work and coordinating among stakeholders.
- Conduct post-construction assessments and quality assurance audits.
Physical & Work Environment
This role is primarily on-site (80%) with some off-site remote work (20%). It requires travel for one to two-week periods and involves various physical activities including long periods of standing, walking on uneven terrain, and working in different weather conditions.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma and 6 years of relatable experience or demonstrated equivalency.
- Valid U.S. Driver’s License and US Citizenship.
- Preferred: Degree in Architecture, Construction Management, or Engineering; CCM or PMP Certifications.
