Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Transportation Drainage Engineer to join our teams in Phoenix, Murray, and Denver, United States. In this role, you will plan, design, and implement drainage systems for various transportation infrastructure projects.

This position supports an exciting Progressive Design Build project involving the I84 & US 89 interchange, converting an existing interchange into an AECOM flagship project. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Design and analysis of drainage systems for highways and roads.
  • Conduct hydraulic and hydrologic analyses using advanced modeling software.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal stormwater regulations.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including environmental and geotechnical engineers.
  • Prepare and review technical reports, design calculations, and construction documents.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources.
  • Mentor junior engineers and represent AECOM in client meetings and public presentations.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies.

Qualifications

Minimum: BA/BS + 4 years of relevant experience or equivalent education.

Preferred: Professional Engineer, BS in Civil Engineering with 6 years of related experience, and familiarity with design software like MicroStation, OpenRoads, and hydraulic modeling tools such as HEC-HMS and HEC-RAS.
