Position Overview
The Senior Roadway/Highway Design Engineer will work at our Chicago, IL office to develop technical concepts, prepare documentation, and oversee complex transportation projects. The role involves creating designs, estimates, and collaborating with clients and team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop design procedures and technical tools.
- Prepare estimates, specifications and design drawings.
- Oversee and review project deliverables ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
- Manage client communications and multidisciplinary team collaborations.
- Supervise less experienced designers as needed.
Qualifications
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree plus 8 years of relevant experience or equivalent qualification. A Professional Engineer license is preferred with familiarity with local agency specifications, including IDOT and ISTHA. Competence with MS Office, CAD, and design software is required.
