Job Description

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Rail Design Engineer II for our Rail Engineering Department in the United States. Become an integral part of the Rail Team, working on heavy rail, light rail transit, commuter rail, intercity passenger rail, and freight rail projects from planning through final design and construction. Use the latest OpenRail Designer software from Bentley to deliver fast-paced, multi-discipline designs for diverse clients.

Job Responsibilities

  • Collaborate in a rail & civil design group of 3-5 team members.
  • Develop analytic and design skills under supervision.
  • Prepare plans, specifications, and cost estimates for rail projects.
  • Collect and analyze project data using engineering software tools.
  • Conduct quality control reviews and design checks for railroad projects.
  • Participate in proposal development and marketing activities.
  • Direct engineers-in-training, designers, and technicians.
  • Travel periodically for client visits, site assessments and inspections.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with 2+ years of civil/rail experience, or equivalent. Preferred skills include proficiency in MicroStation, InRoads, OpenRoads, OpenRail, or other BIM Software, Engineer in Training Certification (EIT), and a valid Driver’s License with a good driving record. A Master’s degree in Civil Engineering focusing on Transportation or Rail is a plus.

Additional Information

AECOM is not offering H1-B sponsorship for this opportunity. Occasional project-related travel may be required. Compensation is based on individual qualifications, with a salary range from $70,000 to $105,000.
