Job Overview
The Rail Design Engineer II role involves contributing to a variety of rail projects across heavy rail, light rail transit, commuter rail, intercity passenger rail, and freight rail. Work from planning to final design and construction, using advanced OpenRail Designer software.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate within a small rail & civil design team (3-5 employees).
- Prepare plans, specifications, and cost estimates for rail and civil projects.
- Conduct data analysis and engineering design under supervision.
- Perform quality control reviews and design checks of railroad projects.
- Participate in proposal development and client meetings.
- Occasional travel for site visits and client engagements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering and minimum 2 years of related experience.
- Experience with MicroStation, InRoads, OpenRoads, or OpenRail is preferred.
- Engineer in Training Certification (EIT) is a plus.
- Valid Driver’s License with a good driving record.
Additional Information
This opportunity does not offer H1-B sponsorship. Compensation is based on education, qualifications, experience, and work location, with a salary range of $70,000.00 - $105,000.00. AECOM offers comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, paid time off, and more.
