Job Overview

AECOM is seeking a highly motivated Rail Design Engineer II to join their Rail Engineering Department in the United States. The role involves working on a range of rail projects including heavy rail, light rail transit, commuter rail, intercity passenger rail, and freight rail, from planning through construction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate in a rail & civil design group (3-5 employees)
  • Conduct engineering design under experienced supervision
  • Prepare plans, specifications, and cost estimates for rail and civil projects
  • Collect and analyze data and perform quality control reviews
  • Utilize software tools including OpenRail Designer and BIM software
  • Participate in proposal development and client meetings
  • Direct engineers-in-training, designers, and technicians
  • Occasional travel for client and site visits

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with 2+ years of civil/rail engineering experience or equivalent
  • Proficiency in MicroStation, InRoads, OpenRoads, OpenRail, or other BIM Software
  • Engineer in Training Certification (EIT) preferred
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering (Transportation or Rail focus) is a plus

Additional Information

This role does not offer H1-B sponsorship. Compensation is based on individual qualifications with a salary range of $70,000.00 - $105,000.00. AECOM also offers comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D, disability, paid time off, and more.
