Job Overview
AECOM is seeking a highly motivated Rail Design Engineer II to join their Rail Engineering Department in the United States. The role involves working on a range of rail projects including heavy rail, light rail transit, commuter rail, intercity passenger rail, and freight rail, from planning through construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate in a rail & civil design group (3-5 employees)
- Conduct engineering design under experienced supervision
- Prepare plans, specifications, and cost estimates for rail and civil projects
- Collect and analyze data and perform quality control reviews
- Utilize software tools including OpenRail Designer and BIM software
- Participate in proposal development and client meetings
- Direct engineers-in-training, designers, and technicians
- Occasional travel for client and site visits
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with 2+ years of civil/rail engineering experience or equivalent
- Proficiency in MicroStation, InRoads, OpenRoads, OpenRail, or other BIM Software
- Engineer in Training Certification (EIT) preferred
- Valid Driver’s License
- Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering (Transportation or Rail focus) is a plus
Additional Information
This role does not offer H1-B sponsorship. Compensation is based on individual qualifications with a salary range of $70,000.00 - $105,000.00. AECOM also offers comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D, disability, paid time off, and more.
