About the role

About Adyen

Adyen provides payments, data, and financial products in a single solution for customers like Meta, Uber, H&M, and Microsoft - making us the financial technology platform of choice. At Adyen, everything we do is engineered for ambition. For our teams, we create an environment with opportunities for our people to succeed, backed by the culture and support to ensure they are enabled to truly own their careers. We are motivated individuals who tackle unique technical challenges at scale and solve them as a team. Together, we deliver innovative and ethical solutions that help businesses achieve their ambitions faster.

The Role

As a Senior Product Manager at Adyen, you will own the "front door" of our global financial platform. You aren’t just building security features; you are architecting a foundational ecosystem where high-granularity enterprise control meets frictionless user experience. Your mission is to bridge the gap between complex identity requirements and seamless workflows, ensuring that security is a catalyst for scale rather than a barrier to entry. You will define how the world’s largest merchants manage their most sensitive assets.

What You’ll Do

  • Drive Unification Strategy: Lead the transition toward a centralized, API-first identity source for both human and machine-to-machine access across Adyen’s global infrastructure.
  • Radical UX Simplification: Obsess over reducing "cognitive debt." You will transform complex IAM configurations into intuitive journeys that empower admins without overwhelming them.
  • Strategic Execution: Partner deeply with Engineering and Security leads to balance rapid feature delivery with the uncompromising reliability required of a global payments leader.
  • Scale Through Governance: Embed GDPR, PCI DSS, and SOX compliance into the core product DNA, implementing the principle of least privilege as a default, not a checkbox.
  • High-Leverage Prioritization: Manage an expanding product scope by ruthlessly prioritizing high-impact initiatives and making smart trade-offs in a resource-conscious environment.

What You Need to Succeed

  • Domain Expertise: Deep technical fluency in identity standards, including SSO, MFA, OAuth2, SAML, FIDO2, and OIDC.
  • The "Builder" Mindset: You thrive in ambiguity and prefer "doing" over "documenting." You have a proven track record of shipping API-first products at scale.
  • Enterprise Empathy: Experience building for sophisticated B2B customers who demand granular permissions (RBAC/ABAC) without sacrificing platform speed.
  • Analytical Rigor: The ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into elegant, scalable technical requirements.

Who You Are

  • Adyen Formula Champion: You value team success over individual ego and believe that good ideas can come from anywhere.
  • Iterative Winner: You prefer to launch, learn, and pivot quickly rather than over-engineering in a vacuum.
  • Technical Mentor: You take pride in leveling up the people around you, acting as a bridge between commercial needs and engineering constraints.
  • Direct & Candid: You communicate with clarity and aren't afraid to challenge the status quo to build a better product.
