Job Description
- Answers phones and directs calls to the appropriate recipients.
- Schedules appointments efficiently and effectively.
- Enters accurate demographic and financial information and updates each visit.
- Verifies eligibility and identifies and uploads insurance information.
- Collects and sorts faxes, scans documents, and ensures all needed documents and authorizations are completed and signed.
- Checks that reappointments have been scheduled by clinical staff and calls patients to remind them of their upcoming visits.
- Responds professionally and effectively to questions from external sources (patients and health plan representatives) and internal sources (providers and clinic staff).
- Follows rules and regulations as described in the Employee Handbook and clinic procedures, as well as policies in the Rural Health Clinic Manual and Patient Care Policies.
- Exhibits excellent customer service and works with a sense of urgency.
- Attends ongoing organizational and leadership training to improve leadership and supervisory skills.
- Maintains consistent and dependable attendance and is accessible and responsible to patients, providers, owners, directors, team leaders, and staff.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
