About the role
Position Summary
The NA Senior Commercial Marketing Manager (Connectivity & Service) is the commercial owner of ASP’s connectivity ecosystem in North America. This role focuses on surgical instrument tracking systems, ITS workflows, cloud-based connectivity platforms, and connected capital devices. It sits at the intersection of marketing, IT, service, cybersecurity, and clinical workflow to ensure scalable adoption and reliable performance of ASP’s connected solutions. The candidate will lead commercial strategy, onboarding, field enablement, and GTM execution for ASP’s cloud-connected services, partnering with Upstream Product Management, IT, R&D, Service, and healthcare IT teams. Experience with surgical instrument tracking systems, sterile processing/OR workflows, technical integration, cybersecurity, SaaS platforms, and connectivity troubleshooting is essential. This leader will also partner with Field Service and remote support teams to ensure uptime and seamless customer experiences.
Duties and Responsibilities
Platform, Connectivity & Vendor Leadership
- Serve as the US commercial owner for connectivity platforms (Sonar SPM, Censis) and other integrations, including cloud-based interoperability.
- Partner with IT, Service, and Upstream PM on connectivity troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, release readiness, and implementation pathways.
- Lead the commercial integration of SaaS and cloud-based connectivity offerings, including architecture, customer onboarding, and adoption measurement.
- Translate cybersecurity requirements into customer-facing messages, supporting customer risk assessments and technical reviews with IT Security.
- Act as primary commercial liaison with external ITS vendors, managing roadmap alignment and value realization.
Commercial Strategy & Go-to-Market Leadership
- Build and execute downstream strategies for Connectivity & Service, covering capital, software, consumables, and subscription models.
- Lead GTM strategy for new connected features, software releases, cloud enhancements, and new integrations.
- Craft differentiated value propositions for IT, clinical leadership, sterile processing, perioperative services, and supply chain.
- Own messaging for cybersecurity posture, data flows, cloud architecture, uptime, and reliability.
- Develop and execute voice of customer initiatives to drive strategy, sales enablement, and marketing.
Customer Implementation, Integration & Adoption
- Partner with Service, IT, Sales, and Clinical to deliver a seamless connectivity implementation pathway: discovery → IT intake → integration → validation → training → activation.
- Create field-ready technical guidance on connectivity setup, troubleshooting, network prerequisites, integration logic with SPM/Sonar and Censis, cloud connectivity workflows, and instrument tracking system usage.
- Ensure connectivity and service issues are integrated into commercial messaging and Field Service readiness.
Sales & Field Enablement
- Build an enablement suite including integration one-pagers, troubleshooting guides, cybersecurity FAQs, pricing/packaging tools, cloud-readiness guides, competitive positioning, and ROI models.
- Train Sales, Service, and Clinical teams on connected products, covering cybersecurity basics, cloud concepts, integrations, and clinical workflow impacts.
- Support account planning, opportunity acceleration, and technical deal support.
KPI Ownership & Business Performance
- Define and track KPIs such as connectivity attach rate, time-to-activation, integration uptime, cloud platform utilization, software subscription metrics, and field escalation trends.
- Own Quarterly Business Review (QBR) performance stories and commercial insights.
Cross-functional Leadership
- Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to create, socialize, and steer a team supporting the NA strategy, business, and customers.
- Influence cloud connectivity features, cybersecurity updates, and integration roadmaps with Upstream PM and IT.
- Ensure Service teams are prepared for each release with field-ready technical and commercial guidance.
- Act as a change agent, championing the transformation to a connected device + SaaS ecosystem.
Training & Education
- Partner with the Clinical Education team, sales, KOLs, Vendors, and Global team to develop and deploy training to the NA sales team.
- Create excitement and enthusiasm for connectivity and service, driving engaged training through spotlights and ad hoc learning.
- Embody being a trusted partner to sales and customers through hands-on partnership in the field and virtually.
Qualifications
6+ years of experience in marketing and content creation or 3 years of healthcare SW/SAAS sales, healthcare IT experience, etc.
