Overview
The Salesperson Store Driver at Advance Auto Parts is an entry level role that supports the DIY business with sales, service, and inventory processes. The position involves direct customer service, parts delivery, and handling various store operations. This role can be part time or full time and requires basic automotive, parts, and delivery knowledge along with fleet safety certification for delivery duties.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service for DIY visits and phone calls.
- Achieve personal and store sales goals.
- Perform DIY services including battery installation, testing, and wiper installs.
- Maintain store product presentation and operational standards.
- Manage inventory processes such as truck put away, cycle counts, and back stock.
- Safely deliver parts to commercial customers as needed.
Secondary Responsibilities
- Maintain store cleanliness including floors, bathrooms, and parking lot.
- General stocking and truck/back stock management.
- Assistance with parts pickup, staging customer orders and processing returns.
Success Factors & Essential Skills
The role demands good driving and navigation skills, effective communication, basic math proficiency, and the ability to operate store systems and equipment. Prior experience of 2-3 years in a retail sales environment (or automotive parts for Driving role) is preferred. Candidates must also be able to handle physical tasks including lifting up to 50-100 pounds and work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, or days as needed.
