Overview
The Salesperson and Store Driver role at Advance Auto Parts is an entry level position designed for individuals who excel in sales or delivery and store support tasks. The position supports both DIY customer service and commercial parts delivery, with responsibilities varying by role.
Primary Responsibilities
- Salesperson: Provide excellent customer experience for DIY visits and calls, achieve personal and store sales goals, perform DIY services (battery installation, testing, wiper installs), and maintain store operational standards and inventory processes.
- Store Driver: Safely deliver parts to customers, pick and stage orders, pick up returns, drop off sales flyers, and handle daily credit account collections.
Secondary Responsibilities
- Maintain store cleanliness (floors, bathrooms, parking lot, etc.).
- General stocking including truck stocking and back stock.
Success Factors
Both roles require basic driving and navigation ability, excellent communication skills, safety knowledge, inventory system proficiency, and the capability to work varied schedules including evenings and weekends. Fleet safety certification is preferred, particularly for the Store Driver role.
Essential Job Skills
Applicants must demonstrate effective communication, basic math skills, ability to interpret manuals and safety documents, and a functional understanding of automotive parts and systems. Prior sales experience for Salesperson and automotive parts experience for Driver are advantageous.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Candidates need to be capable of walking, standing, handling parts and equipment, and occasionally lifting up to 100 pounds. The work is primarily indoors with occasional outside work, exposing employees to variable weather conditions and potential hazards.
Compensation and Benefits
