Job Description

Are you passionate about empowering doctoral students and leading impactful academic support initiatives? In the role of Lead, Academic Support - Doctoral Programs, you will manage daily operations, guide strategic projects, and collaborate across departments to elevate student success.

  • Lead daily operations and manage a team of Instructional Support Specialists.
  • Review course curriculum to integrate OASIS resources for student skill development.
  • Oversee writing assessment support through norming sessions aligned with Walden’s standards.
  • Engage in instructional sessions both online and on-site (occasional travel).
  • Tutor students in academic skills and maintain the OASIS website.
  • Develop engaging instructional resources including audio, video, or self-paced modules.
  • Promote a positive team culture and coordinate staff workloads with strategic priorities.
  • Support data collection, analysis, and reporting on student engagement with OASIS services.
  • Collaborate with the Associate Dean to implement program strategy and participate in university working groups.
  • Adhere to all university policies and standards.

Qualifications

Education: Master’s degree required; doctoral degree or current enrollment in a doctoral program preferred.

Experience: Minimum of five years in higher education and/or online adult learning, with supervisory experience and a record of leading instructional support teams.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in data collection and reporting using tools like Power BI and Microsoft Excel.

Core Competencies: Problem-solving, collaboration, organization, communication, adaptability, attention to detail, and effective time management.
