Job Description
Data Engineer - Last Mile & Application Layer
Are you passionate about delivering flawless data solutions that drive business impact? We are seeking a dedicated Data Engineer to join our team in San Jose, CA! At Adobe, you will play a pivotal role in our ambitious projects, ensuring our data pipelines and application layers are world-class.
What you'll do day-to-day
- Work closely with business collaborators and data engineering teams to understand requirements and onboarding needs. Then, translate these into reliable, scalable integrations on Tron and supporting BI tools.
- Compose, build, and maintain last-mile data pipelines that ingest, transform, and deliver data from various systems into the Tron ecosystem. Ensure the pipelines provide high quality, low latency, and resilience.
- Architect and implement the application metadata layer that connects underlying data models to the UI, crafting a clean, maintainable bridge that makes Tron intuitive for end users.
- Partner with the core development team to debug production issues, QA/test new platform features, and validate data and application components end-to-end.
- Serve as a trusted technical partner to collaborators and platform users, tackling analytics-related questions and proactively supporting evolving business needs.
What you'll bring
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
- 5+ years of deep SQL expertise, performance tuning, and building solutions across multiple database platforms.
- Strong hands-on comfort in Unix/Shell environments, combined with experience in Spark and Python for data processing and pipeline logic.
- 5+ years working directly in major cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
- Practical working experience with Git for version control, JIRA for task tracking, and modern IDEs for efficient development.
Nice-to-haves that would make you stand out
- Experience building or extending internal analytics/BI platforms.
- Familiarity with data observability tools or implementing custom monitoring/tracing.
- Exposure to infrastructure-as-code or CI/CD for data pipelines.
- Background collaborating across distributed/global teams.
This is a hands-on role with real ownership—your work will directly build how fast and reliably our teams get trusted data to make decisions. If you're passionate about closing the gap between raw data sources and business impact, we'd love to talk. Ready to help power the next level of analytics at Adobe? Let's build something great!
