About The Role
We are seeking an ambitious and dynamic Lead Civil Engineer to assist in the growth and development of our Civil Engineering division in Sydney. This key engineering role will be responsible for planning, managing, and successfully delivering complex engineering projects.
Responsibilities
Some of your key accountabilities in this Lead Civil Engineer role will include:
- Carrying out and managing detailed designs for all types of projects and all aspects, ensuring designs are innovative, prepared to a high standard, and in accordance with client needs and expectations.
- Managing and resolving project issues, and considering construction costings and practices in the design process.
- Leading, mentoring, and developing a team of engineers and designers within the civil discipline. You will also provide technical guidance, feedback, and support to team members, and conduct performance reviews, training needs analysis, and career development plans.
- Gaining an understanding of the business and strategic direction of ADG, and developing, growing, and maintaining strong customer relationships.
- Identifying, communicating, and pursuing new opportunities for the Civil Engineering division in Perth, and building your business development skills.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for someone with:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Chartered member (CPEng) of Engineers Australia.
- 10+ years of demonstrated design experience.
- Ability to think critically, solve problems, and review designs by others effectively.
- Experience in production of detailed engineering drawings commensurate with level of duties.
- A knowledge of construction methods and their impact on design.
- An understanding of design and commercial risk with good contract management experience.
- Experience in liaising effectively with project managers and architects.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to maintain relationships at different levels within client organisations.
- Business development skills.
