AdaptHealth, LLC offers full-service home medical equipment products and services to empower patients to live their best lives at home. We are actively recruiting passionate individuals for the Customer Service Specialist role.

Role Description

As a Customer Service Specialist, you will learn and understand the entire front-end process to ensure successful service for our patients. You will work in a fast-paced environment handling inbound and outbound calls, verifying information from referrals, creating orders, and scheduling patient appointments for equipment as ordered by their doctor. You will also educate patients regarding their financial responsibilities.

Job Duties

  • Develop and maintain working knowledge of current products and services.
  • Answer all calls and emails promptly in adherence to set goals.
  • Document call information following standard procedures.
  • Answer product, retail, and general service inquiries.
  • Process orders and follow up as necessary.
  • Review documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Perform insurance verification and obtain pre-authorizations.
  • Navigate multiple online EMR systems and update records.
  • Communicate with team on trends and troubleshooting.
  • Facilitate resolution of customer complaints.
  • Meet quality assurance requirements and performance metrics.

Competency, Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient with computer applications including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to learn new technologies and EMR systems.
  • Knowledge of insurance, Medicare, Medicaid and health plan methodologies is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a changing environment.

Requirements

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent with at least one year of experience in health care administrative, financial, or insurance-related services. Senior level positions require additional specific job experience in a Medicare certified environment.
