Summary
The Residence Program Specialist is responsible for the care and development of individuals in our residential facilities. The role emphasizes fostering dignity, independence, and a homelike atmosphere while ensuring safety and responding effectively to emergencies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide care and assist with personal development and independence.
- Maintain safety and well-being standards at all times.
- Train residents in daily living activities and self-help skills.
- Create and maintain a personalized, homelike environment.
- Attend meetings and training sessions, prepare reports, and document daily activities.
- Respond promptly to crisis situations and administer first aid when needed.
- Assist with transportation, meal planning, and light housekeeping duties.
- Dispense medications following proper training and agency protocols.
Qualifications
Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, a valid New York State Driver’s License, good communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to analyze and address problems effectively. Medication Administration Personnel (AMAP) certification is required for salaried staff.
Compensation & Benefits
