Position Summary
The Staff Tax Accountant - Closely Held Business prepares tax returns, standard accounting work papers, financial reports, and conducts basic statistical and account analyses. The role requires familiarity with tax concepts, practices, and procedures with a degree of creativity and latitude.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare tax returns and conduct tax research
- Compile and maintain financial data and records
- Prepare detailed accounting and statistical functions related to tax preparation
- Organize work papers, ensuring neatness and proper cross-referencing
- Compile raw data into trial balances and recap cash transactions
- Research accounting issues using reference materials
- Maintain accurate time and expense records for client billing
- Comply with continuing professional education requirements
- Demonstrate executive presence in all interactions
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Required Experience and Education
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a similar field with 0-3 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Working Conditions
The position promotes a flexible work environment with modern work arrangements. Offices operate from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday during tax season, and close at noon on Fridays outside of tax season.
