Position Summary
The Staff Tax Accountant prepares tax returns, standard accounting work papers, statements and other financial reports. The role involves preparing basic statistical and account analyses and requires a degree of creativity and latitude. The position is part of the Closely Held Business team.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare tax returns and conduct tax research
- Compile, prepare, and maintain financial data and records
- Perform detailed accounting and statistical functions
- Organize work papers with cross-references and conclusions
- Compile raw data into trial balance and recapping cash receipts/disbursements
- Maintain accurate time and expense records
- Comply with continuing professional education requirements
- Enhance firm image through executive presence
- Perform other assigned duties
Required Experience and Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a similar field with 0-3 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Skills include confidentiality, effective communication, client service orientation, technical aptitude with multiple software applications, strong organizational abilities, and the capacity to apply accounting principles effectively.
Working Conditions & Benefits
Adams Brown promotes a flexible work environment with modern work arrangements. Offices operate from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday during tax season and close at noon on Fridays outside of tax season.
