Systems Engineer - Open Systems Infrastructure
Acuity Insurance is seeking a Systems Engineer to join the infrastructure team. The role involves designing, building, and maintaining server hardware, operating systems, storage, and data protection systems. The engineer will work with a team to manage virtualization, storage systems, CICD, containers, backup/recovery, and disaster recovery operations.
Essential Functions:
- Provide support and maintenance for distributed and virtualized servers.
- Manage AIX, Linux, and Microsoft Windows operating systems.
- Oversee data replication, backup/recovery, and disaster recovery processes.
- Utilize deep operating system expertise along with container orchestration and CICD pipelines.
- Train local and remote users and contribute to system performance monitoring and tuning.
Education & Experience: Bachelor’s or Associate Degree in Computer Science, MIS or equivalent experience, with 3-5 years in computer operations, applications, technical support, or information security.
Additional Information: Excellent troubleshooting, configuration management, playbook scripting skills, and readiness to work off-hour if needed. Ability to reside within a 2-hour radius of the corporate headquarters is preferred.
