Overview
Acuity Insurance is seeking a Programmer Intern to modify programming systems and support business automation needs. The role involves coding, testing, debugging, and documenting programs, file layouts, and report layouts. The position is ideal for junior or senior year college students pursuing a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Essential Functions
The Programmer Intern will:
- Learn programming languages and systems through formal training and on-the-job mentorship.
- Understand web user interface development and data storage integration.
- Write, test, and debug ETL and SQL processes for accurate data retrieval.
- Create and update documentation including disaster recovery procedures.
- Collaborate with the Strategic Analytics department and consult with users to identify data needs.
- Follow detailed testing plans and department guidelines.
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
- Perform other assigned duties.
Education and Experience
Preference for candidates who are in their junior or senior year of college or equivalent experience. This is an entry-level position.

- Analytical problem-solving skills

Compensation and Benefits
