About the Role
The Marketplaces Demand Planner at Activate Talent is a fractional, execution-focused planning role responsible for demand forecasting and inventory visibility for Amazon (FBA) and Walmart. The role exists to prevent stockouts, minimize excess inventory, and surface risks early to ensure operational efficiency and customer trust.
Responsibilities
- Marketplace Demand Forecasting: Own rolling demand forecasts for Amazon and Walmart, balance availability with inventory risks, and forecast using imperfect data while clarifying assumptions.
- Weekly Inventory Planning & Reporting: Produce weekly reports, track sell-through, and flag inventory risks.
- FBA & Logistics Coordination: Support inbound shipments to Amazon FBA, coordinate quantities and timelines, and reduce delays or errors.
- Inventory Health & Risk Monitoring: Monitor stranded, excess, and aging inventory while partnering on markdowns or liquidation plans.
- Operational Visibility & Improvement: Deliver inventory updates to leadership and propose process improvements to shift from reactive to preventative management.
What Success Looks Like
Reduced out-of-stock rates on Amazon and Walmart, timely inbound shipments, sustained healthy inventory coverage, clear leadership updates, and fewer urgent escalations.
Who You Are
You have experience in forecasting demand for Amazon (FBA) and/or Walmart, a background in fast-moving consumer goods or similar environments, and a passion for preventing stockouts. You thrive with imperfect data, think in systems beyond spreadsheets, and take full ownership of your work.
