Policy and Campaigns Manager at ActionAid Ghana
ActionAid is an international anti-poverty agency working in over 40 countries, taking sides with poor people to end poverty and injustice together. ActionAid Ghana (AAG), an Affiliate of ActionAid, is looking to employ experienced and self-motivated individuals to fill the above position.
Role Overview
Reporting to the Head of Programmes & Policy, the Policy and Campaigns Manager is a member of the Senior Management Team. This role is responsible for leading ActionAid Ghana (AAG) and ActionAid International (AAI) policy and campaigns work. You will identify opportunities within the Ghanaian political and social context to highlight instances and causes of poor policy implementation and propose AAG tested alternative solutions to key decision makers and other stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of AAG's policy and campaign strategy.
- Conceptualize, plan, and write policy briefings and reports for advocacy targets and colleagues.
- Initiate, develop, undertake, or coordinate research projects within AAG to ensure advocacy is evidence-based.
Job Circumstances
This is a three (3) year renewable contract employment on national terms and conditions. The role involves travel within and outside Ghana as well as working beyond regular hours.
Qualification Required & Experience
- Master's Degree in Public Policy Analysis or relevant field with 5 years' experience in policy work, OR
- Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences or relevant field with 10 years' experience in policy work.
