Job Description

Job Summary: Warehouse Associate

As a Warehouse Associate at Acosta Group, you will be an integral part of the Branch Distribution Center team. This role encompasses the full spectrum of warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, accurate order picking, secure packaging, strapping, and efficient shipping of customer orders. You will also be responsible for meticulous document control, physical inventory management, and general warehouse maintenance, utilizing both manual and mechanized materials handling equipment.

You will play a crucial role in ensuring products are moved efficiently and accurately through the distribution center, maintaining high standards for product condition and delivery timetables.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Receiving Associate in receiving materials from manufacturers and various carriers, including freight, parcel services, FedEx, UPS, and U.S. Postal Service.
  • Verify incoming stock for correct amounts, condition, and packaging, adhering to Branch receiving procedures.
  • Place incoming stock into assigned locations and assist with proper product labeling according to client instructions.
  • Prepare shipments for induction into UPS, USPS, and LTL systems, strictly meeting customer delivery requirements.
  • Accurately pull orders from stock locations using Shipping Documents, ensuring precision in case packs, stock numbers, and units of issue.
  • Achieve a 100% RF scan rate for all picking processes.
  • Pack all shipments diligently to prevent product damage during transit.
  • Package and label outgoing shipments as required to comply with specific customer demands.
  • Move prepared outgoing shipments to the designated Staging Area.
  • Support in conducting and reconciling physical inventories of products within the Distribution Center.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment by sweeping, cleaning, and disposing of trash.
  • Operate materials handling equipment safely and in full compliance with corporate policies.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support overall warehouse efficiency.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Work Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 6 months of previous warehouse experience is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities:

  • Must possess effective communication skills, including the ability to speak and hear clearly.
  • Excellent computer skills are required.
  • Experience with UPS, USPS, and LTL shipping processes is preferred.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, a strong sense of urgency, and excellent attendance are mandatory.
  • Prior experience in small item receiving, order selecting, and shipping is preferred.
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license, as driving on behalf of Acosta Sales & Marketing is a requirement.
  • Candidates must be able to stand for an entire 8-hour shift.
