About the Project

ACCIONA delivers complex civil and infrastructure projects throughout Australia. Our Transmission team focuses on national tenders that reinforce energy networks across diverse terrains. As a Senior Electrical Estimator, you will help shape bids that support Australia's energy transition and long-term infrastructure resilience.

About the Opportunity

As a Senior Electrical Estimator, you will develop first principles estimates for overhead transmission lines and/or substations ranging from 66 kV to 500 kV. Your role involves interpreting drawings, understanding construction methods, and market pricing to build competitive tender submissions. You will collaborate closely with the National Transmission Estimating Manager, as well as construction, engineering, and procurement teams. Additionally, you will support tender governance, participate in reviews, and assist with Best And Final Offer (BAFO) responses.

Key Accountabilities for the Senior Electrical Estimator Position

  • Build comprehensive first principles cost models.
  • Deliver accurate quantity take-offs for project components.
  • Coordinate Request For Quotations (RFQs) and meticulously assess pricing.
  • Maintain and update cost databases to ensure current and reliable data.
  • Define optimal construction methods and corresponding rates.
  • Support critical tender pricing reviews.

Required Skills and Competencies

To succeed as a Senior Electrical Estimator, you will need:

  • Extensive knowledge of HV line and substation construction.
  • Proven expertise in first principles estimating.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and specialized estimating systems.
  • An Engineering degree or relevant trade qualification.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in infrastructure projects.
