Your Role as Group Copy Supervisor, Associate Creative Director
You will serve as a curious and collaborative life sciences creative copy leader, instrumental in driving customer success and achieving global business results at scale. You bring extensive experience in oncology and have a proven track record across multiple brands and diverse therapeutic areas. You thrive on delving deep into data to craft impactful messages and approvable claims. As a proactive, self-motivated, and inspiring candidate, you combine strong writing sensibilities with an analytical and strategic mindset. You are adept at navigating MLR reviews and are equally comfortable collaborating with internal teams and engaging diverse client audiences. You possess the acumen to discern when high-level guidance versus hands-on execution is required, seamlessly transitioning between strategic oversight and direct deliverable creation. You are an experienced supervisor and an effective mentor, committed to nurturing your direct reports' potential. Furthermore, you are a client-facing expert, capable of leading presentations and skillfully managing client feedback and modifications.
The Work You'll Do
As a copy/content leader, you will leverage your background in writing for healthcare audiences, including HCPs, patients, and caregivers. You understand how to develop content that captures interest, builds trust, and adheres to the stringent regulations of the life sciences and health sectors. Collaboration is key; you will work closely with cross-functional teams spanning art/visual design, client services, performance marketers, data/analytics, and strategy. You are skilled at creating unique content for emerging media and technologies, particularly within specialized healthcare platforms. The Group Copy Supervisor, Associate Creative Director has experience in writing and evaluating copy based on complex clinical product information, can extract compelling narratives from clinical data and prescribing information, and can confidently interact with both Life Sciences brand marketers, healthcare system/provider, and patient audiences. You quickly assimilate brand specifics, scientific nuances, and strategic issues for each project. Experience across multiple therapeutic areas is essential. You will also be responsible for developing campaigns and content that directly align with our clients’ strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Pitch and present work both internally and to clients, demonstrating a clear understanding of strategic objectives and providing a rationale for how messaging supports business goals.
- Utilize expert copywriting skills to create engaging content for pharmaceutical and medical technology sectors, aligned with communication objectives.
- Ensure all content strictly complies with FDA and/or PAAB medical compliance requirements and stays updated on regulatory changes.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to integrate brand guidelines, tone, and voice across different customer segments.
- Navigate legal limitations within life sciences copy, creating strong experiences while adhering to regulations.
- Develop long-form and short-form copy for various media, including email, digital ads, direct mail, SMS, sales collateral, websites, and landing pages.
- Craft creative and compelling subject lines and powerful Calls-to-Action (CTAs) that measurably enhance marketing performance.
- Align content strategy and copy to drive user acquisition, engagement, and retention.
- Consume research and gain insights into audience segments to build user-centered, performance-driven content.
- Maintain consistent client style, quality, and tone of voice across all copy, including work from junior team members.
- Employ visual thinking, considering the entire end product during content creation.
- Collaborate closely with team members to ensure a cohesive, integrated customer experience.
- Prioritize time management and expectation-setting, staying organized on deadlines and communicating deliverable status clearly.
- Collaborate with the Creative Manager to offer guidance and recommendations for project plans and timelines, ensuring high-quality, on-time content production.
Here's What You'll Need
- 6 years of copywriting experience within a pharma/life sciences advertising agency or related medical/healthcare publishing industry.
- Demonstrated success in promotional copywriting for both Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) and Consumers in the Pharma Space.
- Experience with rare diseases is considered a valuable asset.
- Proven experience with FDA content submission processes.
- Ability to maintain working hours aligned with Eastern Standard Time (EST).
- A University degree is a mandatory requirement for this position.
- Proficiency in English is essential for this role, as it involves regular interaction with stakeholders across Canada, the US, and other global regions where English is the primary language. The high volume of these interactions necessitates this requirement.

- Familiarity with developing content/copy within regulated industries, ideally pharmaceuticals or MedTech.
