The Role: AEM Architect
We are looking for a highly effective Senior AEM Architect to join our team. This person will utilize best practices and methodologies to design and implement the best solution for our clients. This key member of our team contributes to the entire software development lifecycle including analysis, requirement specification, use case and data modeling, development, testing, and implementation as well as educating and leading others in the form of code reviews, workshops, and documentation.
Key Responsibilities and Work
- Lead large-scale AEM technical requirements.
- Responsible for supporting any new business development activities or RFPs.
- Conduct technical grooming for functional stories and create technical design documentation for the development team.
- Responsible for providing platform governance and operational guidelines following best practices in a multi-tenant environment.
- Support the development team in designing and troubleshooting any environment issues.
- Perform impact analysis and effort estimations on change requests.
- Assesses work effort for time-to-complete estimates.
- Build multi-view architecture diagrams for different stakeholders and meeting their prospects.
- Interact with client technical leads and architects in support of physical and integration architecture.
- Interact with engagement and project managers to ensure proper adherence to SDLC and to conduct project risk identification and mitigation planning.
- Participate in software design, software development, and package implementation using standard WCM or eCommerce platforms such as Adobe AEM (CQ), SDL Tridion, hybris, and Oracle/ATG.
- Provide advanced-level development, testing, debugging, and documentation skills.
- Provide oversight, planning, and technical guidance to ensure successful delivery of software projects.
- Ensure software developed adheres to best practices and quality standards through code and design reviews.
- Vendor management with the AMS team.
What You'll Need
- 7+ years experience designing Adobe Experience Manager solutions.
- 5+ years experience leading teams and technical project requirements.
- 5+ years of hands-on Java & J2EE/JEE software development experience.
- 3+ years of experience designing solutions with related technologies (Target, Analytics, AEP etc…).
- University degree or equivalent work experience.
- Bilingual communications in French and English are required for this position.
- English is required for this position as this role will regularly interact with stakeholders across Canada, US, and other countries across our Global footprint where English is the common language.
Bonus Points If You Have
- AEM Architect Certification.
- Experience working with WCM platforms and tools such as SDL Tridion, Sitecore, Fatwire, CrownPeak, hybris, Oracle/ATG Demandware, Intershop, and IBM WebSphere Commerce.
- Experience in multiple web technologies including: XML, HTML, XHTML, CSS, AJAX / JavaScript, Web Services/SOAP, SQL.
- Experience with one or more Java concepts and patterns including: Java/J2EE, JSP, Spring, Sling, JMS, JUnit, AOP, MVC, Eclipse.
- Experience and full lifecycle involvement with both waterfall and Agile methodologies.
- Experience with multiple source control systems: CVS, SVN, Git.
- Working knowledge of multiple web and application tier technologies: Tomcat, WebSphere, Weblogic, Apache Http, Spring tcServer, Solr, open source packages.
- Experience with project automation technology: Jenkins, Continuum, Hudson, automated unit testing, Maven, Ant.
- Experience with performance tuning and analysis: thread dump analysis, heap dump analysis, profilers, performance troubleshooting.
- Experience with web application design and analysis, design patterns, and object-oriented design.
- Experience with multiple Unix/Linux operating systems.
- Ability and willingness to split time between management and hands-on software design, development, and review.
- Strong leadership skills, including the ability to deliver constructive feedback and the ability to lead by example.
- Hands-on experience estimating development tasks.
- Ability to anticipate issues and formulate remedial actions.
- Experience managing and/or being managed by remote teams/offices.
- Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
- Experience in a consulting environment.
- Demonstrated leadership in a professional setting; either military or civilian.
- Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration in a professional setting; either military or civilian.
