About the Role: 3rd Line IT Support Consultant

We are seeking an experienced technical consultant to join our Customer Infrastructure Team, working for one of Smartdesc’s largest global clients. This hybrid role based in Hemel Hempstead demands strong technical problem solving skills and the ability to work independently with guidance available as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain IT systems and resolve escalations.
  • Propose and implement IT infrastructure improvements.
  • Ensure high quality service for client IT infrastructure.

Technical Skills

The ideal candidate will be proficient in:

  • VMWare vSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V with SCVMM in clustered environments
  • Storage Platforms such as Nimble, NetApp, IBM
  • Physical Server Equipment from HPE, Dell, IBM
  • Configuration and troubleshooting of Azure AD, Conditional Access, MFA, Enterprise Apps, and Azure AD Sync
  • Managing Hybrid & Native 365 environments
  • Administration and Migration of Active Directory and MS Exchange to Office 365
  • Email security with Mimecast and Microsoft Defender for 365
  • DNS troubleshooting and configuration
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting
  • Experience with Windows Server platforms and Group Policy
  • RDS including RemoteApp / Remote Desktop Gateway
  • Networking technologies and troubleshooting TCP/IP issues
  • Firewall, router and switch configuration/troubleshooting
  • Veeam Backup & Replication for backup and disaster recovery
