Job Summary

This is a full-time, direct placement role at Resource Consulting Engineers, LLC (RCE), a top-tier firm in the Midwest specializing in designing healthy buildings. The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for designing mechanical, plumbing, and fire-protection systems including HVAC systems and process heating/cooling systems, while working with both firm staff and clients. Responsibilities and Duties

  • Develop HVAC and plumbing designs for commercial, industrial, and institutional projects.
  • Design and analyze fire protection systems.
  • Perform calculations using design software for mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
  • Produce detailed mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection drawings.
  • Assist in developing study or report documents.
  • Review contractor submittals and respond to their questions.
  • Conduct field investigations including site visits and surveys.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal codes and ASHRAE standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Construction Engineering.
  • 3-10 years of experience with HVAC design for commercial, industrial, or institutional projects.
  • Experience in designing HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license or Engineer In Training (EIT) certification.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other HVAC design software (e.g., Trane TRACE, Carrier HAP).
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to manage key projects and meet deadlines with guidance from senior engineers.
