Role Overview - Sr. Cloud Engineer

This role is ideal for a hands-on, highly skilled engineer experienced in AWS infrastructure, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, and incident response. You will own Infrastructure as Code and ensure platform reliability and security while collaborating with development teams.

What You'll Do

• Design, build, and maintain Terraform modules across AWS accounts.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines for application and infrastructure deployments.
• Manage ECS task definitions, container images, and deployment orchestration.
• Own VPN operations, AWS IAM permissions, and network infrastructure.
• Automate infrastructure to reduce manual operation and improve reliability.
• Coordinate production release operations including validations and rollbacks.
• Participate in on-call rotations and incident response activities.
• Maintain monitoring dashboards and alerts for proactive system health.
• Implement secure infrastructure in line with AWS best practices and compliance standards.
• Conduct capacity planning and identify cost optimization opportunities.
• Collaborate with development teams, review architectures, and mentor peers.

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
• 5+ years in cloud infrastructure, DevOps, or infrastructure engineering roles.
• 3+ years of hands-on AWS production experience.
• Strong Terraform expertise with CI/CD integration.
• Experience with CI/CD tools, preferably Jenkins.
• Hands-on experience with ECS and familiarity with Kubernetes.
• Strong Linux/Unix systems administration skills.
• Experience in on-call rotations and incident response.
• Deep knowledge of AWS services (EC2, ECS, RDS, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, etc.).
• Scripting skills in Python, Bash, or Go.
• Exposure to observability tools like DataDog, SumoLogic, and PagerDuty.
• Experience with Git-based version control systems.
• AWS certifications preferred.
• Ability to troubleshoot under pressure and mentor team members.
• Knowledge of AI tools for cloud infrastructure automation is a plus.
