About The Role

At Abnormal AI, we safeguard the world's largest enterprises from cybercrime by protecting against evolving adversaries. As a Software Engineer 1 - Identity Security, you will build protections for non‑human identities in complex enterprise environments. This is a 0→1 founding product team role requiring rapid prototyping, tight feedback loops, and comfort with ambiguity.

What You Will Do

  • Build discovery, classification, monitoring, and protection for machine identities.
  • Ship guardrails and policy engines for safe automation and misuse prevention.
  • Create high‑availability pipelines that ingest and correlate identity, authorization, and behavioral signals.
  • Prototype rapidly and iterate based on testing and feedback.
  • Collaborate across security, platform, and data teams and review technical designs.

Must Haves

  • 1+ years building software applications and productionizing data‑intensive systems.
  • Experience with rapid prototyping and solving complex technical challenges.
  • Proficient in debugging with logs, metrics, and signals.
  • BS in CS/SE/IS or related field with ability to translate business needs.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Go and Python.
  • Familiarity with IAM, machine identities, OAuth/OIDC, SCIM, SSO, and policy engines.
  • Background in cybersecurity, big data, statistics, and ML for risk modeling.

Compensation & Benefits

Base pay range is competitive with additional bonus, RSUs, and benefits offered based on skills and experience. Roles in the SF Bay Area require about 25% in-office presence.
