To strengthen the FECCS data domain at the Business Analytics side, we are looking for an enthusiastic, self-starting Power BI IT Engineer with a focus on Business Analytics with Power BI/Fabric and a proven track record to support our Business Analytics processes. Implementing and improving a target-state of end-user reporting helps the bank to be compliant with DFC rules and regulations, but also to harmonise processes, rationalise our IT landscape, improve data quality, and generate relevant and reliable reporting. Overall, we contribute to preventing financial crime and with it, be trustworthy as a bank for our clients and society in general.
Your Job
As a BI Developer, you play an essential role in the IT world of the DFC data domain. You will be part of the FECCS Business Analytics team, in which you design, provide, and maintain enterprise-grade Power BI dashboards and ready-to-use semantic models for thousands of users. FECCS stands for Financial Economic Crime Compound Service; the FECCS BA team as the pioneer in the bank maintains the Fabric platform and provides that as a service to our stakeholders.
Besides a technical mind, the team also seeks someone who can be an inspiration to the team, good in communication, in possession of a proactive attitude at work, and eager to learn.
Your Roles and Responsibilities include:
- You will work as a DevOps team member in a scrum team having a Data Engineer Chapter.
- You will work within the team on refining, analyzing, designing, developing, testing, maintaining, and realizing good quality and future-proof IT solutions.
- You will be working in a DevOps team and capable of designing/updating Power BI dashboards used by a large group of users.
- You will be able to enhance/configure the application as per the user's expectation.
- Educating yourself and others with the right technical capabilities and the latest developments in Power BI/Fabric.
- Coordination among all other chapter members within the team to make the application sustainable.
- Good analytical skills to solve critical production issues with your expert technical skills.
- Actively participating in knowledge gaining and sharing by joining triangles, circles, communities, and events.
- Comply and advocate the Agile, DevOps mindset.
Your Profile
You will be an essential part of the FECCS BA team; your responsibility will include:
- Transform tables using Fabric notebook, Lakehouse, and event house.
- Collaborate with the data product team to define requirements for data.
- Translate business requirements to technical needs, develop and maintain dashboards, providing BI solutions for thousands of users.
- Govern BI environment by setting correct permission and RLS to models.
- Monitor BI environment and fine-tune performance of models and workspaces.
- Actively contribute ideas to improve BI architecture, performance, and usability.
- Support and mentor self-service BI users by following development best practices.
Your Qualifications:
- 5+ years' experience with Power BI semantic model, Power query, DAX, etc.
- Microsoft Power BI PL-300 (Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst) certified or willing to get it certified.
- Skilled in SQL, Python, and PySpark.
- Have a good understanding of Kimball modeling, permissions, and RLS.
- Experienced in modern data architecture, data transformation, and orchestration, certification DP-600 (Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate) or equivalent experience in Fabric or Azure is preferred.
- Experienced in Azure Data Explorer or Fabric Eventhouse is preferred.
- Have excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities and translating data into visuals.
- Have good interpersonal skills and proactive attitudes, eager to learn new technology.
- Familiar with Agile and DevOps way of working.

Furthermore:
- The gross monthly salary (Eur 4.213 - 6.014) displayed above is based on a 36-hour work week, including vacation pay and benefit budget. A 40-hour work week is also possible.
- The Benefit Budget is 11% of your salary. The Benefit Budget allows you to acquire additional employment benefits. If you make no purchases or reservations in the Benefit Shop in a given month, you are paid one twelfth of your Benefit Budget that month.
- Five weeks of vacation per year. You have the option to purchase an additional four weeks per year.
- Personal development Budget of € 1,000 per year, which you can accumulate up to € 3,000.
- Possibility to work from home (in consultation with your team).
- An annual public transport pass with free public transportation throughout the Netherlands.
