Senior SR&ED Consultant IT
ABGi Canada, part of the SNEF Group, is seeking a Senior SR&ED Consultant, IT to join their dynamic team of technical R&D tax credit professionals. This is a unique opportunity to become part of an entrepreneurial and growing R&D team within a recognized leader in tax credit optimization.

Role Overview
As a Senior SR&ED Consultant specializing in Information Technology clients at ABGi Canada, you will leverage your technical skills within a collaborative team environment. Your primary focus will be identifying and substantiating R&D tax credit claims for clients throughout Canada, with a particular emphasis on the IT sector. ABGi Canada has a diverse client base spanning architecture, engineering, software, biomedical sciences, oil and gas, manufacturing, apparel, brewing, aerospace, and agriculture.
Location
This position is based in Toronto, with the flexibility of a hybrid work arrangement. Occasional travel may be required to meet business needs.
Responsibilities
- Identify activities eligible for the SR&ED tax credit and structure claims through client interactions and collaboration with ABGI Conseil Mission Management.
- Determine eligible expenses for SR&ED tax credits, government grants, and subsidies.
- Draft SR&ED claims, grants, and subsidy applications for submission to tax authorities, working with clients and under project manager supervision.
- Document claims using relevant forms and technical reports to support submitted work.
- Assist clients during Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) audit processes.
- Engage in international collaborations with other subsidiaries within the SNEF Group (USA, UK, France, Brazil).
Required Qualifications
- An advanced master’s degree or higher in engineering, IT, electronics, or a related field from an accredited university.
- One to five years of experience as a SR&ED consultant within a professional services organization.
- Solid knowledge of the SR&ED program and other government incentives.
- Proven ability to understand technological challenges and articulate them clearly to highlight SR&ED-eligible elements.
- Previous professional experience in IT, gaming, electrical engineering, electronics, or mechanical engineering.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both French and English.
- Capacity to conduct technical interviews with specialists across various technological domains.
- Strong project management capabilities.
