Job Overview
The Industrial HVAC Controls Technician I provides 24/7 skilled trade maintenance support for industrial HVAC and chiller systems at the manufacturing site. The role is performed collaboratively by two team members to ensure continuous coverage, including potential remote or on-call support outside regular hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform Test and Balance, HVAC troubleshooting, and Preventative Maintenance.
- Assist facility engineering with commissioning and installation of HVAC upgrades.
- Support control systems for heating, cooling, chiller, and humidification operations.
- Diagnose and resolve issues on electronic, digital, and pneumatic control systems.
- Work with building automation systems, including Johnson Controls (Metasys) and Microsoft Office tools.
Qualifications and Skills
- Associate’s or Technical Degree in HVAC or Controls (preferred over high school diploma).
- Universal EPA Certification; Type II or Type III EPA Certification is a plus.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills in electronic, digital, and pneumatic systems.
- Knowledge of air and hydronic systems, chillers, boilers, and 3-phase electrical systems.
- Excellent communication skills to explain technical details to non-technical audiences.
- Detail-oriented with a professional, customer-service mindset.
Compensation
The base pay range is $24.50 to $49.00 per hour, with variations by location.
