This Position reports to: R&D Team Lead

Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Test Automation Architect, you will have the opportunity to initiate and drive technology, software, product, and/or solution development using in-depth technical expertise in a specific area. You will act as the first point of contact in Research and Development (R&D) for in-depth product or technology-related issues. You will also showcase your expertise by supporting strategic corporate technology management and future product/software/solution architecture.

This role is contributing to the Motion Business High Power Division in Bangalore, India.

Key Accountabilities

• Designing and maintaining test automation frameworks and creating test plans and test suites for embedded IoT controllers.
• Leading the test automation team in developing test strategies, creating test cases and the execution of test operations.
• Responsible for creating bug reports, strategies for bug fixing and CI/CD integration of test infrastructure, calculating test metrics.
• Collaborating with the product owners, architects and other stakeholders to understand the business requirements and plan the quality assurance strategies accordingly.

Qualifications for the Role

• B.E/B.Tech in Electronics/Electrical/Computer Science Engineering with 10-14 years of experience in test automation and quality assurance of embedded devices.
• Experienced in developing test automation frameworks for embedded devices using Robot Framework and Python.
• Proven experience in building test strategies based on system understanding, test plan creation, & hardware device testing.
• Possess an enhanced knowledge of Embedded device testing, IoT, REST APIs, UI testing, Selenium, Embedded Linux, Docker, SSH, MQTT, Shell scripting, Linux services, Computer networks.
• Prior experience in leading test automation teams and managing automation frameworks preferably in embedded domain.
• Experience in testing IoT devices including technologies such as remote device management, OTA, fleet management would be a plus.
• Experience with testbed orchestration, automated report generation and management, containerized software development would be a plus.
• You have a problem-solving mindset and are able to mentor and guide juniors in solving daily development challenges.
