This Position reports to: R&D Team Lead
Your Role And Responsibilities
As a Product Engineer within the MOHP division, you are responsible for the end-to-end design, development, and testing of power electronics firmware and hardware components for locally developed solutions in India. This role also ensures production stability by optimizing and maintaining tester infrastructure. Key responsibilities include migrating technical upgradation of the testers and boosting the First Pass Yield (FPY).
Work Model: This role is contributing to the Motion business based at Bangalore, India.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain power conversion firmware using industrial programming standards for local solutions.
- Design and develop PCBA and modify existing drive control hardware for specialized applications.
- Conduct circuit simulations and hardware prototyping to verify the functionality of modified control boards and monitoring systems.
- Support the pilot implementation of the developed solutions.
- Report software bugs in control unit firmware, document problem-solving steps via formal reporting systems.
- Manage product validation, design iterations, testing and documentation to align with standards such as IEC, BIS, UL, CE on request.
- Conduct technical simulations of drive failures to support root cause identification and case resolution.
- Technical ownership of the automated production testers in terms of hardware and software support.
Qualifications For The Role
- Knowledge of IEC, UL, and CE standards is essential.
- Knowledge and prior hands-on experience in PCBA design simulation and development (usage of software tools such as EAGLE or equivalent) is mandatory.
- Proficiency in standard industrial programming languages for drive controllers.
- Hands-on experience with power electronic simulation tools – MATLAB, LTSPICE, PLECS for design and troubleshooting is mandatory.
- Qualification: BE – Electrical and Electronics or Electronics and Communication or M-Tech – Power Electronics or Control System or Drives.
- Year of experience: 3 to 5 years for BE, 2 to 3 years with M-Tech.
- Skill Set: Variable frequency drive expert knowledge, PCBA design.
