About the Role

At ABB, we help industries outrun - leaner and cleaner. As the Head of Functional Cost Controlling, you will act as the Finance Business Partner for ABB Robotics’ Functional Leadership. You will take end-to-end responsibility for controlling functional and corporate build-up costs for the spin-off.

You will lead budgeting, forecasting, and reporting for approximately $200M in annual HQ and functional spend across 20+ Product Groups, ensuring transparency, compliance, and comparability across legal entities. Through robust cost controlling processes, you provide actionable insights to drive efficiency, flag risks and opportunities, and support strategic decisions for both near-term execution and long-term value creation.

Main Accountabilities

  • Functional Cost Controlling: Manage budgeting, forecasting, and reporting of HQ and functional costs.
  • Spin-Off Readiness: Implement standalone processes, carve-out allocations, and separation costs.
  • Business Partnering: Collaborate with functional leaders to review costs and support strategic decisions.
  • Process & Systems Management: Develop cost allocation processes and management reporting systems.
  • Reporting & Compliance: Establish KPIs and controls for Board and Executive Committee reporting.

Qualifications

University degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration plus 8-10 years of international finance/controlling experience. At least 5 years of direct cost controlling experience with large budgets, and prior involvement in spin-offs, carve-outs, IPO readiness, or finance transformation projects. Proficiency in finance systems and reporting tools (e.g., SAP, Power BI, HFM) and strong knowledge of US GAAP/IFRS is required. Excellent analytical, communication, and collaboration skills, with fluency in English.
