This Position reports to the Service Manager within ABB Smart Power, a division dedicated to providing energy distribution solutions for data centers, industrial and manufacturing plants, critical infrastructure, and commercial buildings. Our technical teams collaborate closely with industry partners, delivering advanced solutions that support rapid growth, energy transition, and sustainability objectives. The Division’s portfolio includes industrial circuit breakers, low-voltage systems, motor starting applications, and safety devices like switches and relays. Its Power Protection unit supports the world’s largest data center companies with advanced energy-efficient UPS solutions, and the ABB Ability™ Energy Manager provides a scalable platform for energy saving and CO2 reduction.
Key Responsibilities
- Specialize in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of critical power systems, including uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), power distribution units (PDU), static switches (STS), and related systems.
- Ensure the continuous, reliable operation of mission-critical infrastructure for data centers, hospitals, telecommunications facilities, and other environments where uninterrupted power is essential.
- Perform service tasks, identify technical problems, and conduct analysis through remote or on-site activities across various service categories (installation and commissioning, maintenance, repairs, engineering and consulting, advanced services, extensions, upgrades and retrofits, end-of-life services, replacements, etc.).
- Contribute to customer satisfaction by executing service work according to customer orders and expectations.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, understand their needs, and identify new sales opportunities for internal communication.
- Coordinate, prepare, and ensure that all materials, parts, and equipment are available and meet the appropriate quality standards for service activities.
- Identify potential equipment failures proactively and request corrective actions.
- Troubleshoot equipment failures and make recommendations to prevent future issues.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology with 1+ years’ experience servicing critical power equipment OR
- Associate’s Degree in electrical technology with 3+ years’ experience servicing critical power equipment OR
- High School Diploma/GED and equivalent work and/or military experience (5+ years) servicing critical power equipment.
- Preferred: Advanced ability to interact and communicate (written and verbal) information to varying levels within the organization.
- Preferred: Advanced ability to use Microsoft Office products.
- Preferred: Moderate ability to Project Manage using MS Project or Excel.
- Preferred: Advanced ability to write test plans and reports detailing test results.
- Preferred: Advanced ability to stay organized and meet deadlines on administrative duties.
- Preferred: Collaborates well with others and works with a sense of urgency and ownership until the job is complete.
- Must have a valid US driver's license.
- Candidates must already have work authorization to work for ABB in the US.

While base salary is determined by qualifications and experience, this position is expected to pay between $57,400 and $91,840 annually.
