This Position reports to: R&D Principal Engineer
As an intern, you will have the opportunity to gain practical experience through various projects. Each day, you will acquire knowledge by performing tasks as directed. You will also showcase your skills by supporting ABB’s operations and enhancing personal education/employment opportunities.
The work model for the role is onsite/hybrid in San Jose, CA.
What You Will Do:
- Explore and apply Generative AI techniques to curate datasets and create demos (e.g., speech, content generation).
- Contribute fresh ideas on how AI/GenAI can streamline data-centric workflows and enhance decision-making.
- Support data management processes, ensuring high-quality datasets for model training and evaluation.
- Exposure to robotic solutions.
- Assist in developing frameworks to leverage data for improving model performance.
- Collaborate with the team to document best practices and data workflows.
- Help prepare reports and presentations for management review.
- Participate in cross-functional projects to enhance R&D efficiency.
- Engage in team meetings and contribute ideas for optimizing R&D operations.
- Perform administrative tasks as needed to support the R&D team.
Qualifications for the role:
- Currently enrolled in a PhD or master’s degree program in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field in the United States.
- Intern must have reliable transportation to and from the worksite.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future.
- Utilize critical thinking skills to analyze complex situations and develop strategic solutions.
- Effectively organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
- Exhibit the capability to manage several tasks at once while maintaining high standards of quality.
