About The Role
The Data Distribution Engineering team at Abacus Insights is seeking a Data Engineer Intern to join our rapidly expanding team. We anticipate substantial growth and invite you to be a part of our journey! In this role, you will collaborate with customers and various internal teams to extract data from our industry-leading data platform, which is engineered on highly scalable, flexible, and resilient cloud architectures. As a trusted customer advocate, you will have the opportunity to guide clients toward successful adoption of Abacus’s core data management offerings.
Your Day To Day
- Work with clients and implementation teams to understand data distribution requirements.
- Perform data analysis and data mapping necessary to generate client output.
- Build data distribution extracts and scripts.
- Optimize the performance of data extract scripts.
- Foster a dynamic, high-performing, and collaborative culture.
- Guide team members in resolving issues and understanding challenges.
- Spearhead client projects and manage client calls.
- Constantly seek process enhancements and introduce new ideas.
What You Bring To The Team
- 2+ years of experience working with healthcare data.
- A deep understanding of and passion for healthcare data and systems, including knowledge of Membership, Claims, Provider, and other relevant domains.
- Strong experience in writing queries, performing data analysis, data profiling, and reporting.
- Performance optimization experience, specifically with fine-tuning queries.
- Experience handling large volumes of data.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to devise superior analytical solutions for abstract business problems.
- Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify improvement opportunities.
- Experience, coupled with a willingness, to continuously learn new things.
- Desire to contribute individually, alongside the ability to self-direct work and collaborate effectively with others.
- Strong SQL Programming skills.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
What We Would Like To See, But Not Required
- Experience working with AWS, Azure, Databricks, or Spark.
- Experience working with Snowflake.
- Understanding or experience working for a cloud-based data services provider catering to large healthcare clients.
