About The Role
The Data Engineering team at Abacus Insights is seeking a Data Engineer Intern. In this role, you will learn from experienced engineers while contributing to client‑facing data tasks on our cloud‑based healthcare platform.
Your Day To Day
- Work with clients and implementation teams to understand data requirements.
- Perform data analysis, mapping, and generate client-ready outputs.
- Build and maintain data extract scripts under mentor guidance.
- Optimize extract performance and troubleshoot issues.
- Participate in collaborative meetings and contribute improvement ideas.
What You Bring To The Team
Foundational experience with healthcare data, SQL query writing, and data analysis is required. You should be curious about performance optimization, comfortable with large data volumes, and effective at communicating with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders. Strong organizational skills and a willingness to learn new tools and technologies are essential.
What We Would Like To See, But Not Required
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Databricks.
- Familiarity with Snowflake or similar cloud data warehouses.
- Interest in working with cloud‑based data services in healthcare.
Compensation & Benefits
The internship offers $30/hour or $62,400 per annum with unlimited paid time off, work-from-anywhere flexibility, comprehensive health coverage, and a growth-focused environment.
